My Story…

When I got injured and my race training had to come to a full stop last year, I worried I’d never be able to run again.

I was devastated…all those months of training, just down the drain. Running as we approach 40 really is a whole new world. And not only did I have to stop running, I couldn’t even walk without limping.

Physically it was hard, and mentally it was even harder. Those running endorphins are REAL and I didn’t feel like myself at all.

Running was a big part of my self-care – I’d slap on my shoes and run for hours! Now, I couldn’t even walk down the street without a sharp pain in my hip. Every time I tried to jog, my body wouldn’t let me.

My 4 year old would be biking and I couldn’t even keep up to help him. His sister had to run and catch up to him. This wasn’t ME. I’m usually the mom who can keep up with her kids!

I had to do something. I am a RUNNER. I was not giving up. I wanted to run again. Be it 5km, 10km or whatever. I had to get back to feeling like myself again.

So I dug deep, did the work and what I discovered changed everything for me.

I realized what had always been true – running had never been just about my body. It was about my MIND & BODY & SPIRIT.

Yoga practice and physio exercises supported my physical healing… but it wasn’t just these things that were going to get me running again.

I had to deepen my MindBody Connection. This ENERGY shift was everything.

And, I ran a marathon this Spring and qualified for Boston!

If you’re struggling with this too, 40s is not like our 20s, and 𝐰𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬, and 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡, in order to keep doing the things we love, like running, and show up the way we want as we get older.

After spending 12+ years as a Physio/Yogi helping people optimize their health, I have created an online program called 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙀𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙙 because I saw a need for moms who love to be active 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙞𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝, 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙯𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙩 through MindBody Connection.
